As one of the largest motor distributors in the United States, we have over 5,000 motors currently in stock. The diversity, in fact, ranges from 1/125 HP to over 2000 HP, including verticals. We stock low and medium-voltage designs as well as NEMA and IEC enclosure types. Our extensive motor inventory includes:

    Your Bearings Can Fail from VFD-Induced Shaft Currents

    VFDs allow large energy savings and precise control. But they also generate electric voltages on motor shafts. These shaft voltages can discharge through the bearings, causing pitting, fluting, and eventual bearing failure.

    Protect Your Bearings with AEGIS®

    AEGIS® Shaft Grounding Rings are the leading bearing protection technology. They protect bearings by giving shaft voltages a “path of least resistance” to ground, so the shaft discharges through the ring, not the bearing. Unlike other shaft grounding products, AEGIS® rings are long-lived and maintenance-free, and can be installed inside or outside of the motor.

  • Malloy tests the electrical condition of the Winding Circuit(s) for Motors and Generators with our static Motor/Generator Analyzers. These electrical tests can be performed in our service centers or onsite at the customer’s facility.

    We utilize the following Static Motor and Generator Analyzers:

    • Baker D12R (Capable of testing up to 12 kV)

    • Baker D12R with PP185D (Power Pack increases capability of testing up to 30 kV)

    • PdMA MCETM (Capable of testing up to 5 kV)

    Malloy can provide an Electronic (PDF) Copy of these results for the “As Found” and “As Left” conditions of the Electric Circuits. By testing the condition of Motor/Generator Circuits, we can help diagnose potential issues that could cause a failure during future operations and prevent it!

    Description of Semiannual Tests for Electrical Motors

  • Utility and Industrial customers alike have large AC Induction, Synchronous and Wound Rotor Motors that have been running in their respective facilities for many years. When such a machine fails, finding a drop-in replacement can be almost impossible. At Malloy, we love tackling these tough motor application issues. Along with an adapter base, our Motor Team provides a suitable motor with like features and design characteristics. The Adapter Base raises the new motor up to the correct shaft height and utilizes the existing motor’s foot print. This motor/base package provides a true “drop-in” replacement for our customer.

  • Malloy’s extensive motor inventory now includes medium voltage motors up to 2000 HP. The demand for medium voltage motors is growing and Malloy has made the commitment to provide the right motors for many industrial medium voltage applications. Along with medium voltage motors Malloy offers medium voltage drives to provide the perfect system.
